First Train the Trainer Session

On February 1, the first Train the Trainer session (ToT) was conducted to enhance the internal capacity of the “Association 4U’ project in terms of training design and delivery. The training programme was developed by a group of the ‘Association 4U’ professionals – Mark Pinder, Svitlana Batsyukova and Oleksandr Ustymenko.\

The ToT featured three sessions: ‘Development of Power Point presentations’, ‘How to bring interactivity to your training session?’, ‘Dealing with challenges in training delivery’. Humor, voting simulations, as well as peer-support, practical exercises, interactive discussions and other methods were used during the training to reflect upon challenges faced by trainers in implementation of training events, to enhance the use of the competence-based approach in training design, and to provide for attitude change towards training design and delivery.

11 Senior and Associate Training and Translation Fellows/Trainers were active participants in the session. The exercise helped to simulate the real working environment and provided for effective peer-advice and review in terms of training design and delivery.

Three more Train the Trainer sessions aiming at development of both external (line Ministries) and internal project capacity are pre-planned for the next three months of the project operations.
