Training: Introduction to AA/DCFTA

On April 11-12, 2018, the A4U Training Team delivered a two-day training “Introduction to AA/DCFTA” for civil servants of different state bodies and for Junior Fellows of the A4U Project. The training took place at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv basis. It was aimed to introduce the participants to general provisions of AA/DCFTA, its principles, tools and the way of implementation.

The main attention was paid to the impact of AA/DCFTA on internal reforms in Ukraine, strengthening of institutional capacity as a prerequisite for the successful implementation of the AA/DCFTA, democratization of public governance, wide sectoral cooperation between the EU and Ukraine, and experience in EU decision-making. The session on  Planning, Monitoring, Implementation of AA/DCFTA highlighted the implementation of AA/DCFTA in Ukraine, taking into account Government Action Plans and Reports.

The training was delivered by the Key Expert Cezar Herma, Senior Legal Approximation Fellows Ksenia Smirnova, Olesia Radyshevska, Senior Training Fellow Maryna Chulaievska, Senior Sectorial Policy Fellows Oksana Kraevska and Oleksiy Kolesnikov.

The Head of the Governmental division of the coordination of the EU-UA cooperation (Governmental Office for Coordination of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration) Zoriana Makaruha delivered a session on the EU-UA cooperation.

The participants of the Training worked in groups and discussed the different reforms in Ukraine implemented in due to the provisions of the AA/DCFTA, its problems and the ways for improvement.
